It is with great sadness that the InfuCare Rx team announces the loss of a dear friend and patient, Lenora “Lynn” Waltz.  We have been honored with the privilege of knowing and treating Lynn for more than fifteen years. Lynn was instrumental in starting a local Myasthenia Gravis (MG) support group near Pasadena, Maryland, which ultimately became the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America (MGFA). Lynn was a passionate, fearless, and tremendous advocate who was a source of strength for many newly diagnosed MG patients.

Lynn was the Secretary of the MG Chapter for years and took on many leadership roles to help patients. In her role, she created a dedicated telephone line and post office box, mailed out informational MG packages, and organized monthly MG support group meetings.  Lynn helped organize educational sessions led by physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to discuss and educate patients on emerging new MG treatments.  Her dedication helped create an environment where patients could discuss the highs and lows of having a chronic condition. Lynn was adamant about utilizing the annual Walk-n-Talk MG picnic funds to directly help patients to alleviate their high medical expenses.

Lynn was known to obtain necessary medical equipment and even drove patients to healthcare appointments, that would have otherwise been missed.  Lynn saw each MG patient as an individual (like a snowflake), living a solo experience but part of a collective group and community.  With the help of her daughter, Stephanie, magnets were made to symbolize this.  These magnets are proudly displayed on many cars in the area to honor the community we happily serve.

This is the picture found hanging above her desk. Another example of her loving the MG Community.

For those who knew Lynn, her selflessness, devotion, sense of humor, and her direct nature will never be forgotten.  Her passing is a huge loss, but we are better people for knowing her and having her brighten our lives.

We are pleased to announce that the 2021 InfuCare Rx Neuromuscular Scholarship will be given in Lynn’s honor. To learn more about the InfuCare Rx Scholarship Program, click here.
